Femme Glow Co ("we", "us", "our") runs the online store at femmeglowco.com. We're a small Australian business based in South Australia. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and, where they apply to you, other privacy laws such as the UK GDPR and the privacy laws of Canada and US states.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Order details: your name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping address, and the products you buy.
- Account details: if you create an account, your login email and order history.
- Messages: anything you send us by email, our contact form or social media, such as questions or return requests (including photos of a damaged item).
- Marketing sign-ups: your email address (and phone number, if you give it) when you join our mailing list.
Payment information
Payments are processed securely by Shopify Payments and other payment providers we offer at checkout. We never see or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our site, we and our service providers collect some information automatically using cookies and similar technologies. This includes your device and browser type, IP address, approximate location, the pages you view, the products you add to your cart, and how you arrived at our site.
2. How we use your information
- To process, ship and track your order, and to send order and shipping updates.
- To handle returns, refunds and warranty or faulty-item claims.
- To answer your questions and provide customer support.
- To send marketing emails or texts, but only if you've signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by replying STOP to a text.
- To run and improve our website, understand what's working, and show more relevant ads.
- To prevent fraud and keep our store secure.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
3. Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information for money. We share it only with service providers who help us run the store, and only as much as they need:
- Shopify, which hosts our store and processes payments. See Shopify's privacy policy.
- Our fulfilment and shipping partners, including our product supplier and couriers. They receive your name, shipping address, phone number and order details so they can pack and deliver your order.
- Payment providers you choose at checkout.
- Email and marketing tools, which send our emails to subscribers.
- Analytics and advertising partners, such as Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok and Pinterest. They help us understand site traffic and show ads. See section 5 for how to opt out.
- Authorities, where the law requires us to share it, or to protect our rights or prevent fraud.
4. Sending information overseas
Some of our service providers are based outside Australia, or store data overseas. These include the United States (for example Shopify, Google and Meta) and China (our product supplier, which ships your order). By ordering from us, you understand that your information may be sent to these countries for the purposes above. We take reasonable steps to make sure these providers protect your information.
5. Cookies, analytics and targeted ads
We use cookies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, measure site traffic and show you relevant ads on other sites. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the store (like the cart) may not work properly without them.
Sharing personal information for targeted advertising based on your activity across different websites may be considered a "sale", "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under some US state privacy laws. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to opt out of these activities.
If you visit our website with the Global Privacy Control (GPC) opt-out signal turned on, then depending on where you are, we'll treat it as a request to opt out of any activity that may count as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, or other targeted advertising, for the device and browser you used. You can also opt out of personalised ads from Google at adssettings.google.com, and from Meta in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.
6. How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for tax and accounting purposes (in Australia, generally 5 years). We keep marketing details until you unsubscribe. Other information is kept only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. After that, it is deleted or de-identified.
7. Keeping it secure
Our store runs on Shopify, which uses encryption (SSL) and meets the PCI DSS standard for payment security. We limit access to your information to what's needed to run the store. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.
8. Your rights and choices
You can ask us to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that's wrong or out of date.
- Delete your information, unless we need to keep it for legal reasons.
- Stop sending you marketing.
Depending on where you live (for example the UK, Canada or some US states), you may have extra rights. These can include getting a copy of your data in a portable format, objecting to or restricting certain uses of it, and opting out of targeted advertising. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first. We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights.
9. Children
Our store is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, please contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, please email us first and we'll try to resolve it within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au. If you're in the UK, you can contact the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we add a new service or our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
12. Contact us
